Feature focus: Shopware Analytics

This blog post was first published on June 18, 2024, and last updated on July 16, 2024.

We are excited to announce the release of Shopware Analytics, a groundbreaking feature providing in-depth insights into your shop’s performance directly within Shopware 6. In this blog post, you will find out what the feature offers you, how you can use it, and how it will be expanded in the future.

Why was this feature developed?

You asked, and we delivered. Shopware Analytics was the most-requested feature, with over 110 upvotes in our feedback portal. Shopware 5 users are already familiar with this feature, and now it’s available for Shopware 6. But that's not all, the Shopware 6 dashboards offer improved data visualization and an overall enhanced user experience.

What are the benefits?

Shopware Analytics – essential shop KPIs

Shopware Analytics lets you effortlessly track essential metrics for your online store through various KPI dashboards, including:

  • Total sales

  • Orders

  • Average order value

  • Usage of payment methods

  • Amount of customers

  • Number of new customers

Merchants can learn and adapt based on reliable shop data, making data-driven decisions, spotting trends and anomalies, and identifying new opportunities. These insights can be a real game-changer for your store, enabling you to transform performance and strategy in the intuitive Shopware environment.

Shopware Analytics is continuously improved, with new KPIs added independently from regular Shopware releases. Merchants will see these updates immediately.

How to use the feature

Shopware Analytics needs to be installed as an extension available in the admin store or Shopware store. After installation, a new "Analytics" section will appear in the admin navigation.

Shopware Analytics – seamlessly integrated

When you first open the service, you’ll be asked for consent to process your data. After giving consent, the Analytics area offers various dashboards for different KPIs, with hover-over details for deeper insights. You can change the date range and apply filters for Sales channels, Countries, and Customer Groups.

Exporting data

You can also export the data as CSV files. This is incredibly useful for further analysis or creating reports in programs like Excel. This function allows you to present your shop's performance data in meetings or integrate it into other software tools, enhancing your ability to make data-driven decisions.

User rights management

Shopware Analytics integrates seamlessly with user rights management. This means you can control who has access to specific KPIs and dashboards. For instance, you might want certain users to see only particular metrics relevant to their roles. This controlled access ensures that sensitive data is only available to authorized personnel, maintaining security and efficiency within your team. To define role management, use the normal Roles & Permissions section in the shop's system settings area.

Prerequisites

Shopware Analytics is available for all Shopware 6 merchants from the Community Edition upwards (currently only for self-hosted versions, with future plans for Cloud customers). It requires Shopware version 6.5.7 or higher

What additional highlights are we working on?

As we already mentioned, this is just the beginning. We’ll add further KPIs and expand the filter and viewing options as well as comparison options.

We’ll continue adding new KPIs prioritized based on customer interviews, feedback, and our research results. The good thing is that we can publish each KPI as soon as it is ready, without waiting for a minor or major release. This allows us to keep enhancing the analytics capabilities dynamically and in direct response to your needs.

This feature is currently in the Beta phase. We plan to invest time in refining and expanding the service to provide robust analytics capabilities and move out of the Beta phase sometime this year. We would appreciate your feedback to help us improve and polish the service. Please provide your feedback in our Feedback Portal
