Bikebox GmbH was founded by Steffen and Sandra Faulhaber more than twenty years ago. Since then, the passionate owners have grown the product range from a single article to over a thousand products. Having started by working from their garage, they now have an online store with a 9,700 sq ft office and sales space, plus 45,000 sq ft of warehouse space in Rottweil-Neufra. The two-person team has now grown to over a hundred bike enthusiasts.
Bikebox initially used Plentymarkets as the basis for its first online store. But over time, Plentymarkets began to falter. It no longer provided support and even made an EOL (end-of-life) announcement for the Plentymarkets frontend. The outdated technology would have required a much heavier investment in development.
Bikebox decided to avoid this by migrating to Shopware 6, which was selected for the following reasons:

The store system’s future prospects with regard to planned functionality
The relaunch was a resounding success for Bikebox, with Shopware 6 enabling the company to improve the store’s performance, optimize usability, and even reduce the bounce rate.
